The Pleasures – wer die vierfköpfige Glamrockband aus Hamburg je live gesehen hat, wird sie so schnell nicht mehr vergessen: leidenschaftlicher Größenwahn und charmanter Gigantismus mit Pyroeffekten, Glitterbomben und im übertragenden Sinne „brennenden“ Gitarren. Ihre Einflüsse - so unterschiedlich wie David Bowie, Marilyn Manson, Kiss, Guns ’n’ Roses, Rammstein und die Rocky Horror Picture Show sind unverkennbar, aber das alles in schrill und sexy. Diese Glamrocker meinen es trotz des exaltierten Stylings Ernst, die Lust und der Spaß am Androgynen ist bei ihnen nicht nur auf die Bühne beschränkt, ohne Lidstrich verlassen die einzelnen Bandmitglieder nicht das Haus. Dancette (Gesang/Synth), der bereits seit Jahren die Idee zu dieser Band in sich trug, gründet gemeinsam mit Lord Vivian (Gesang/Gitarre) im Juni 2004 The Pleasures. Zu dieser Zeit befinden sich beide Vollblutmusiker noch in anderen Bands, in denen sie ihre wahre Leidenschaft, den Glamrock, nicht ausleben können. Doch bereits Anfang 2005 stehen sie gemeinsam mit Sensai (Bass) im Probenraum. Von Anfang an war die Musik genauso wichtig wie das perfekte Styling mit Glitzer, Glamour, Hotpants und Strapsen. Und das alles mit der Absicht, das pure Leben ohne Grenzen zu leben, Tabus zu etablieren, sowie für sich selbst und ihre Fans, Freiheit in allen Lebensbereichen neu zu definieren. Durch ihre unermüdlichen Touren durch Deutschland, England, Italien, Dänemark und Belgien - unter anderem als Vorband für T-Rex, Malice In Wonderland, Kanadas grössten Glamrockexport Robin Black und Hanoi Rocks - haben sich The Pleasures bereits ein fanatisches, stilistisch breit gefächertes und überwiegend weibliches Publikum erspielt, welches der Band in Stil, Sexappeal und Glamour in nichts nachsteht und ihnen von Auftritt zu Auftritt hinterher reist. The Pleasures sind für die Bandmitglieder ihr Lebensmittelpunkt. Der androgyn-charismatische Sänger Dancette schreibt gemeinsam mit Curtis den Großteil der Songs. Ihre eingängigen Melodien interpretiert Dancette, von seinen Bandmitgliedern liebevoll „Diva“ genannt, perfekt mit seiner ausdrucksstarken, leidenschaftlichen Stimme, und seiner extrovertierten, akrobatisch anmutenden Bühnenshow, komplettiert durch druckvolle Gitarrenriffs von Curtis, dem kraftvollen und dreckigem Bass-Sound von Sensai und dem ebenso energetischen wie exaktem Schlagzeugspiel vom Drummer Namens Taranaki Pleasure. Bei so einer exzessiven Live-Show, so hat es die Vergangenheit bereits gezeigt, fliesst manchmal nicht nur Kunstblut. Auch brennende Keyboardkoffer gehörten bereits, wenn auch unbeabsichtigt, zu Show dazu. Sensai ist seit dem Ausstieg von Lord Pleasure Ende 2010 für die Produktion der Songs verantwortlich. Ihr erstes Album, nach der 2005 erschienenen Debut-EP „Cuming Out“ (produziert von Chris Harms), mit dem augenzwinkernden Titel „Greatest Hits“), - als Konzeptalbum eine Hommage an die verschiedenen Stilepochen, von denen The Pleasures geprägt sind - verkaufen sie lediglich durch Konzerte und Internet innerhalb von fünf Monaten 1000 Mal. Als Vorgeschmack auf das 2008 erscheinende Doppelalbum „Oh Yeah” (produziert von Chris Harms & Sensai Pleasure), wurde die Single „Some Like It Rock” im April 2007 veröffentlicht Im Frühling 2007 wurden The Pleasures beim renommierten, internationalen Nevolution-Song-Contest der Firma NEVE, für ihren Song „Honeymoon in Venice“ unter Tausenden von Bewerbern als beste Band ausgezeichnet. Seit Januar 2007 ist Sensai der Band stolzer Endorser von Warwick. Bei der aktuellen Show „Die Piloten“ von Christoph Schlingensief, die Mitte 2009 auf ARTE europaweit zu sehen war,, waren The Pleasures die Studioband. Vorab bekamen sie hierfür bereits ein überaus positives Pressecho, z.B. als „Retter der entgleisten Show“ (Die Welt). Im Sommer 2009 unterschrieben The Pleasures ihren ersten Plattenvertrag und brachten Ende 2009 Weltweit das Album „Oh Yeah Revolution“ (produziert von Chris Harms & Sensai Pleasure), raus, welches bis heute noch über AFM und SoulFood Music vertrieben wird. Ende 2011 wurde das schon längst ausverkaufte Debutalbum „Greatest Hits“ als digitaler Download erneut veröffentlicht und erntet seit dem weltweit erneut große Beachtung. Anfang 2012 wurde ein Werbefilm mit The Pleasures eines Kraftstoffanbieters gedreht und fand in dessen Kampagne große Beliebtheit. Ende 2012 kam das von Fans lang ersehnte vierte Album „Socks, Drags & Rock’n’Roll“ auf den Markt (RecordJet/New Music Distribution) Im Oktober 2013 veröffentlichten The Pleasures im Rahmen des Schwarze Welle CD-Samplers „Dark Season“ ihren eigens dafür komponierten Weihnachtssong „Someone Blew My Christmas Candle“ (ZYX Music). Im Dezember 2013 veröffentlichen The Pleasures passend zur Unpluggedshow den Song „Skull Hammer Unplugged“ (RecordJet). Im gleichen Monat unterzeichnen The Pleasures einen Plattenvertrag bei City of Lights Reocords und bringen 2014 die CD „Foursome Reason“ heraus und es folgten kontinuierlich neue Singles weltweit. Ihre Pläne für die Zukunft ganz unbescheiden: Gigantische Shows auf die Bühnen dieser Welt bringen. Nicht mehr und nicht weniger.

Sure, they take a massive pinch of Bowie, T-Rex and The Sweet, but they also have a disgusting love of all things Toilet Boys, Marilyn Manson, Robin Black & the Intergalactic Rockstars ... this is glam rock 21st century style ... and we gotta say it sounds like NOTHING we have ever heard before ...” The Pleasures – anyone who has ever seen the four-piece glam rock band from Hamburg live will not forget them in a hurry: passionate megalomania and charming gigantism with pyro effects, glitter bombs and, figuratively speaking, “burning” guitars. Their influences - as diverse as David Bowie, Marilyn Manson, Kiss, Guns 'n' Roses, Rammstein and the Rocky Horror Picture Show - are unmistakable, but all shrill and sexy. Despite the exalted styling, these glam rockers are serious, their desire and fun for being androgynous is not just limited to the stage, the individual band members don't leave the house without eyeliner. Dancette (vocals/synth), who had had the idea for this band for years, founded The Pleasures together with Lord (vocals/guitar) in June 2004. At this time, both full-blooded musicians were still in other bands in which they could not live out their true passion, glam rock. But already at the beginning of 2005 they were in the rehearsal room together with Sensai (bass). From the beginning, the music was just as important as the perfect styling with glitter, glamour, hot pants and suspenders. And all of this with the intention of living the pure life without limits, establishing taboos, and redefining freedom in all areas of life for themselves and their fans. Through their tireless tours through Germany, England, Italy, Denmark and Belgium - including as opening act for T-Rex, Malice In Wonderland, Canada's biggest glam rock export Robin Black and Hanoi Rocks - The Pleasures have already developed a fanatical, stylistically broad and predominantly A female audience that is in no way inferior to the band in terms of style, sex appeal and glamor and follows them from gig to gig. The Pleasures are the center of life for the band members. The androgynous-charismatic singer Dancette writes the majority of the songs together with Sensai. Dancette, affectionately called “Diva” by his band members, interprets their catchy melodies perfectly with his expressive, passionate voice, and his extroverted, acrobatic-looking stage show, completed by powerful guitar riffs from Curtis, the powerful and dirty bass sound from Sensai and the like energetic and precise drumming from the drummer named Taranaki Pleasure. At such an excessive live show, as the past has already shown, sometimes it's not just fake blood that flows. Burning keyboard cases were also part of the show, albeit unintentionally. Sensai has been responsible for producing the songs since Lord Pleasure left at the end of 2010. Selling their first album, after the 2005 debut EP “Cuming Out” (produced by Chris Harms), with the tongue-in-cheek title “Greatest Hits”) - as a concept album a homage to the different stylistic eras that characterized The Pleasures just through concerts and the Internet 1,000 times within five months. As a foretaste of the 2008 double album “Oh Yeah” (produced by Chris Harms & Sensai Pleasure), the single “Some Like It Rock” was released in April 2007 In spring 2007, The Pleasures were named best band among thousands of applicants at the renowned international Nevolution song contest organized by NEVE for their song “Honeymoon in Venice”. Sensai has been a proud Warwick endorser of the band since January 2007. The Pleasures were the studio band for the current show “The Pilots” by Christoph Schlingensief, which was shown across Europe on ARTE in mid-2009. They received extremely positive press coverage in advance, for example as “saviors of the derailed show” (Die Welt). In the summer of 2009, The Pleasures signed their first record deal and at the end of 2009 released the album “Oh Yeah Revolution” worldwide (produced by Chris Harms & Sensai Pleasure), which is still distributed today via AFM and SoulFood Music. At the end of 2011, the long-sold-out debut album “Greatest Hits” was re-released as a digital download and has since received great attention worldwide. At the beginning of 2012, an advertising film with The Pleasures was shot by a fuel provider and was very popular in its campaign. At the end of 2012, the long-awaited fourth album “Socks, Drags & Rock’n’Roll” was released (RecordJet/New Music Distribution) In October 2013, The Pleasures released their specially composed Christmas song “Someone Blew My Christmas Candle” (ZYX Music) as part of the Black Wave CD sampler “Dark Season”. In December 2013, The Pleasures released the song “Skull Hammer Unplugged” (RecordJet) to coincide with the Unplugged show. In the same month, The Pleasures signed a record deal with City of Lights Reocords and released The CD “Foursome Reason” was released in 2014 and singles followed worldwide.
